Despite the fact that propolis tincture has many medicinal properties against hundreds of diseases and a small list of contraindications (more on them below), before using it you should consult a specialist to avoid possible allergic reactions.

For the female half

The female body reacts more sharply than the male body to any changes. For this reason, it needs constant replenishment: cosmetics, immunomodulatory medications, vitamins.

All this can replace propolis for women, which has a huge number of medicinal properties and has virtually no contraindications.

Tinctures from this substance are widely used in cosmetology, gynecology, in the treatment of bacterial and viral infections, and disorders of the gastrointestinal tract.

For the male half

The healing properties of propolis have a positive effect not only on the female body. The benefits of propolis for men are not in doubt; the bee product becomes a kind of aphrodisiac (bee honey), which helps improve potency.

It contains many minerals and vitamins that have a positive effect on male potency. helps treat impotence. The medicinal properties of this remedy are known to a small number of men, so instead of a tasty and inexpensive remedy, they buy expensive drugs at the pharmacy.

Alcohol adjustment of propolis indications for use

This tincture is used to treat various types of diseases. How to take the remedy depends on personal preferences, as well as the nature of the illness. Some take the product exclusively internally, others use it for irrigation or as compresses. How exactly to take propolis directly depends on the disease itself. I think you will agree that there is no point in applying a compress to the face for a person with periodontal disease. Based on this, I would like to summarize that the indications for use are determined by a correctly made diagnosis. Propolis - what is it?

This substance is produced by bees to build their colony; it closes cracks and honeycombs, performs a disinfectant function, and maintains sterility in the honeycombs.

The bee produces it from resins collected from poplar, birch, alder buds and other trees. Afterwards the collected substance is processed with bee enzyme. Science has not yet fully studied the process of propolis formation. The valuable qualities of this substance are also still being studied.

For treatment, you can purchase a tincture at the pharmacy. However, do not forget to make sure that it is not intended for external use only. If you know a beekeeper, you can purchase propolis from him and make the tincture yourself at home.

To prepare a 10% tincture you will need 50 g of propolis and 450 ml of alcohol. Alcohol with a concentration of 70% is best suited - in this case, the solution will be extremely healing, and all the beneficial substances will be transferred into the tincture. You can also take vodka - then the solution will be less concentrated:

  • Freeze the prepared propolis in the freezer (for about 2 hours), remove and grate;
  • Fill the resulting crumbs with water, also chilled. After stirring and 5 minutes, pure propolis will settle to the bottom, and debris (wax and other impurities) will appear on the surface;
  • Drain the water with impurities, and dry the resulting purified propolis thoroughly;
  • Place dry crushed propolis in a bottle and fill with alcohol or vodka;
  • Seal tightly and place in a dark place at room temperature;
  • Shake the bottle every morning to stir the mixture;
  • After 14 days, filter the darkened alcohol into a dark glass container - your medicine is ready.

You can store it not in a dark container, but without access to light. The sun's rays have a detrimental effect not only on microorganisms, but also on some beneficial substances.

You can prepare the tincture in a quick way. For this:

  • heat the prepared vodka in a water bath to 50°C;
  • pour crushed and peeled propolis into it;
  • stir the mixture until the bee glue is completely dissolved;
  • filter the solution into a dark glass container - the tincture is ready.

Important! The concentration of the solution can be different: from 5 to 50%. Usually a 10 or 20% tincture is used for treatment, but this is purely individual. If you experience discomfort when taking it, the dose should be reduced or the tincture should be diluted with alcohol.

An alternative solution for people who cannot drink alcohol may be:

  • Water tincture. Add 50 g of purified crushed bee glue to 100 ml of boiled water heated in a water bath to 80°C. Without boiling, heat for an hour, then leave for 6 hours, filter and pour into a dark glass bottle. This product can be stored for no longer than 3 months. in a refrigerator;
  • Milk tincture. To prepare, add 2 tbsp to 0.5 liters of milk. l. propolis powder, heat in a water bath until dissolved, then cool slightly. Remove the wax film from the surface (if the propolis is unrefined) and filter into a dark glass bottle. Because of the milk, such a solution is not stored for long and only in the refrigerator;
  • Oil preparation. To obtain a medicinal composition, mix alcohol tincture and sea buckthorn oil in equal parts, then simmer in a water bath until the alcohol completely evaporates. Store this product in the refrigerator and use it to treat external damage.

Any disease can be treated with medications, however, when using propolis tincture, almost no side effects are observed. But in combination with the expected effect, you will receive strengthening of the immune system, cleansing of toxins, mineral and vitamin replenishment of the body.

Treatment of these conditions can be carried out both internally and externally.

  • For a child under 12 years old, make the following composition: add honey (1 tsp), propolis tincture (1/3 tsp) and a little butter to 200 ml of boiled milk. It is also better to give the product at night.

Important! Young children should use alcohol tincture with caution. Start with a few drops, after consulting with your doctor.

External use:

  • For the treatment of small children, a composition is prepared: tincture (1/3 tsp) is added to melted goat fat (a small piece). The resulting mixture is rubbed on the baby’s chest and back, as well as on the feet. After this, the lubricated areas are insulated with cotton wool, and cotton socks are put on the legs. A substitute for goat fat can be pork fat, camphor oil or sunflower oil. The procedure is also recommended to be carried out at night;
  • When the child is already 2-3 years old, make the following compress: spread fat (whatever is available) onto a sheet of thick paper, and then spray the tincture on it. One sheet is applied to the back, the other to the chest, after which they are wrapped in cotton wool and a warm scarf.

Important! Before use, make sure that the patient is not allergic to propolis: lubricate the inside of the elbow or knee joint with the tincture. If there is no irritation or rash, the product is suitable for use.

If you feel that your condition has begun to worsen after hypothermia or being in a crowded place during an epidemic, you can use propolis tincture as follows:

  • Make milk with tincture three times a day (20-30 drops per glass) and drink warm before meals (about an hour);

  • If a runny nose appears, rinse the nasal cavity with boiled water with the addition of tincture (200 ml - 1 tsp).

Important! To achieve maximum effect, carry out antiviral treatment on the first day after infection. It is during this period that microorganisms are most susceptible to exposure.

  • For catarrhal sore throat (redness of the throat), a mixture of honey, water and 20% tincture is used for lubrication;
  • When white or purulent plaques appear on the tonsils, keep the tincture diluted with water in your mouth for several minutes, trying to let it wash the tonsils. In this way, they are cleansed of pathogenic mucus. The procedure is carried out every 2 hours.

Important! Pure propolis is used to treat sore throat. A small piece (the size of a match head) is chewed 4 to 5 times throughout the day. The duration of each procedure is at least 20 minutes. The saliva is swallowed.

Treatment of inflammation of the paranasal sinuses with alcohol tincture can be carried out using different methods:

  • For rinsing, add tincture (1 tsp) to a regular saline solution or a self-prepared liquid (1 teaspoon of salt per glass of boiled water). Washing should not be performed in patients with abnormalities of the nasal cavity (polyps, adenoids, deviated nasal septum) or a tendency to otitis media. For those who know how to do the procedures correctly, it is recommended to carry out rinsing daily even after recovery, only using clean or slightly salted water;
  • Steam inhalations are effective for all types of sinusitis: add 0.5 tsp to 1.5-2 liters of boiled water. propolis 30% tincture and inhale the vapor through the nose. If the child is small, you can pour the medicinal composition into a rubber heating pad. Nebulizers are not used for the treatment of the nasal cavity, since they were originally intended for inhalation of the lower respiratory tract;
  • For treatment, drops of the following composition are also used: mix carrot juice, honey and propolis tincture (20%) in a ratio of 2: 2: 1. Instill 3 drops into each nostril 4 times a day.

Important! Treatment of sinusitis should be carried out under the supervision of a doctor. If the patient has elevated temperature or purulent discharge, then warming procedures are contraindicated - this can provoke activation of bacterial microflora and negative consequences.

Otitis in some cases, like sinusitis, is of an infectious nature and, therefore, any warming procedures should be carried out only after medical consultation.

For inflammatory processes in the ear, the following recipes are used:

  • If the disease is viral in nature, 5 drops of 30% aqueous tincture are instilled into each ear for 10 days;

  • Another treatment regimen involves a mixture of 10% alcohol tincture and sea buckthorn oil in a 1:2 ratio. The medicinal composition is used to wet the turundas, which should be in the ears for at least 5 hours. The course of treatment is 3 weeks.

Important! Usually, when treating a diseased ear, medicine is also injected into a healthy ear for prevention. If a child gets sick, the dose is reduced by 2-3 times. And during treatment, the condition of the skin is monitored to prevent irritation.

Recipe

There are two main recipes for propolis tincture - with alcohol and with water. The latter option is recommended for those categories of patients for whom alcohol consumption is contraindicated or not recommended.

How to make propolis tincture with alcohol:

You will need the ingredients in proportions of 1:10 - i.e. For 1 liter of 70-degree alcohol you need 100 grams of bee product. The latter must be crushed - grated or chopped with a knife. To do this, it is recommended to first put it in the freezer for a short time, this will make the process easier. When the propolis shavings are ready, pour them into a dark glass bowl and fill with alcohol. The folk remedy must be infused for 2 weeks in a dark and cool place. Also, shake the contents regularly. The result will be a 10% tincture.

If you want to increase the level of concentration of propolis on alcohol, use the components in proportions of 1:5, increasing the percentage of bee product. Thus, you will get a 20% tincture.

How to prepare propolis tincture in water:

The proportions for preparation are unchanged: 1:10. You need to first grind 100 grams of propolis and pour it into a thermos. Then pour the contents with 1 liter of hot water (at least +50 degrees) and leave for 24 hours.

Please note that it is recommended to strain the tincture before use, regardless of the recipe chosen.

Aqueous solution of propolis

The aqueous extract can be taken orally. This is especially true for people suffering from gastrointestinal diseases (gastritis, ulcers, colitis, liver disease), who require “mild” treatment with gentle means. You should drink the medicine 2-3 tablespoons 3-5 times a day. This should happen at least half an hour before meals. There is also a popular recipe in folk medicine, according to which the bee product tincture is diluted in a glass of warm low-fat milk.

The course of treatment is 1 month, prevention is 2 months.

An aqueous solution of propolis is relevant in case of intoxication of the body: alcoholic or food. In this case, you should dilute 2-3 tablespoons of the product in 100 ml of warm water, drinking the liquid in one gulp.

Propolis is suitable for external use as drops - for the eyes, nose or ears. 2-4 drops will be enough, repeating the procedure several times a day. Also, in some cases, tincture is used to disinfect or relieve inflammation, but it is considered less effective than alcohol. The aqueous extract can be used in its pure form - by moistening cotton wool, bandage or gauze with it. Often used for varicose veins.

Contraindications

The instructions for propolis tincture also suggest certain contraindications for use - like any other medicine. The first and main thing is individual intolerance to bee products. Before starting treatment, you need to make sure that you do not suffer from allergies. This contraindication limits the use of aqueous propolis extract.

If we talk about alcohol tincture, the list of taboos is much wider - they are associated with alcohol consumption. The use of a folk remedy is not recommended for people suffering from acute inflammatory diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, heart, kidney or liver failure, as well as pregnant and lactating women.

Storage

The alcohol tincture should be stored in a dark and cool place. A refrigerator is best suited for this purpose. Also make sure that the medicine is in a place where small children cannot reach it.

The shelf life of alcohol tincture of propolis is up to 24 months. In the case of an aqueous solution, it does not store its beneficial properties for very long - only 3-5 days. After this period, there will be no point in using the medicine.

Video "Propolis: treatment and application"

Propolis is a bee glue used by insects to insulate homes, preserve foreign objects, and flies. They collect it with a special tool and prepare medicines from it according to ancient recipes. Alcohol tincture is very popular.

Before you begin to consider the benefits of the product, it is important to understand the unique composition of “bee glue”. It contains a huge amount of resins, essential oils, aromatic compounds, micro and macroelements, vitamins (A, E - responsible for beauty, group B - for calming the nervous system). The ratio of all of the above components depends on the type of propolis.

Today the following healing properties of beekeeping products are known:

  • relieves inflammation;
  • destroys fungal microorganisms;
  • has an antimicrobial and disinfecting effect;
  • normalizes water balance in the body;
  • accelerates the healing process of wounds, minor scratches, abrasions;
  • choleretic effect;
  • used for the treatment and prevention of viral diseases;
  • relieves various pain sensations.

In addition to all of the above, the tincture removes sexually transmitted infections, pathogens of toxic infections, and is also used to treat and prevent the formation of thrombosis.

How to prepare propolis tincture with alcohol

Preparation of the tincture according to the classic version involves 4 stages:

  1. Cleansing propolis from additional unnecessary components. Place the fresh product in the freezer for 2 hours. Then chop finely, put in a container and fill with clean cold liquid. After 20 minutes, drain the water with unnecessary components, and carefully place the “bee glue” on a dry towel and dry.
  2. Compound. The dried ingredient is placed in a glass jar, filled with alcohol (vodka) and closed.
  3. Aged for 14 days in a dark, dry room at room temperature. It is important to remember that the contents of the jar must be shaken once a day.
  4. Filtration occurs through cheesecloth and a fine sieve.

The infusion is stored in glass containers, preferably dark in color, for no more than 3 years. The concentration of the product directly depends on the ratio of propolis and alcohol:

  • 5% infusion - 1 tsp propolis and 95 ml medical alcohol;
  • 50% - 50 g of the main ingredient and 50 ml of alcoholic drink.

The recipe described above produces a high-quality tincture that retains all its beneficial properties.

The second cooking option is quick. To do this you will need:

  • alcohol 70% - 100 ml;
  • beekeeping product - 15 g.

Pour the alcohol into a suitable container and heat it a little in a water bath. Place the propolis in the freezer for 40 minutes, then finely chop it and combine it with an alcohol-containing ingredient. Stir until completely dissolved.

It is important not to let the composition boil. Then strain through cheesecloth and a fine-mesh sieve, and pour into a dark glass container. Store the tincture, covered, in the refrigerator for no more than 12 months.
