Alcatel he touch pop c2. Alcatel OneTouch Pop C2 - Specifications

Alcatel One Touch POP C2 (OT-4032D) has become another addition to the line of budget two-SIM cards from Alcatel. The One Touch line of smartphones has already gained popularity in Russia and POP C2, we hope, will not be an exception. The smartphone is based on a dual-core chip from MediaTek - MT6572 with a clock frequency of 1.3 GHz, the graphics subsystem is represented by Mali-400 MP. Despite the rather compact dimensions (64.4x122x11.95 mm) and light weight (116 g), the smartphone has everything you need to perform everyday tasks: surfing the Internet, communicating in social networks, running not very resource-intensive games, listening to music, etc. The amount of random access memory (RAM) installed in the phone is 512 Mb, built-in memory - 4 GB, of which ~ 1.2 Gb is available for storing user data.

The POP C2 screen is quite bright (image size 480x800, matrix type - TFT, the sensor supports up to two simultaneous clicks), but the image quality significantly depends on the viewing angle. So, for example, if you tilt the image up or down a large angle, you can see color inversion and distortion. However, given the price of the device (2490 rubles), you can close your eyes to these shortcomings. If you look at user reviews: "cheap, calls and has Android", "simple, inexpensive, practical", "works smartly, fits comfortably in the hand" - then we can really conclude that the OT-4032D fully justifies its price. By the way, the phone has a built-in FM-receiver, which, unlike other models, works without headphones. At the same time, the sound quality is quite tolerable, and the speaker cannot be called completely quiet. Below are the brief specifications of the POP C2.

In AnTuTu Benchmark 5.5, this phone scored 12037 points out of the box. Desktop interface, controls, etc. quite standard for Alcatel's One Touch series:

From pre-installed applications, there is almost everything you need (and, conversely, you don’t need) - AVG Antivirus, Google Chrome, Evernote, Facebook, Google+, Hangouts, Kingsoft Office, LinkdIn, Office Suite, Viber, Whatsapp and many more. other. So even out of the box, many can already be used immediately after the phone has been "unpacked".

By the way, on the official site of Alcatel on the page OneTouch POP C2 4032/4032D this phone only supports A-GPS. However, judging by the indications of the GPS Test, the phone quickly saw 5 satellites in the field of view and determined its location (during the test, we specifically turned on the "Airplane" mode to disable receiving information about geolocation based on signals from base stations and other sources) . However, the accuracy of GPS positioning when using real navigation programs has not been tested by us.

Part of the Alcatel One Touch POP C2 4032D devices, which went on sale in the retail network of the MTS Russia operator, has the first slot blocked for this operator. Those. By default, in these devices, the first slot works only with MTS SIM cards (the same information is written on the box to the device). You can also distinguish the "locked" version from the usual one by the provider ID. Devices that have a provider ID - 4032D-2AMSRU1 and 4032D-2BMSRU1 are blocked on the MTS. Devices whose provider ID ends with ALRU1 can be immediately used with SIM cards of any operators in the first slot.

The phone manufacturer has provided the regular ability to unlock the first slot by entering the NCK code (network unlock code), after which the phone starts to understand the SIM cards of any operators. The following video shows the process of entering the NCK code into the phone:

You can purchase an unlock code for the first slot Alcatel OT-4032D (One Touch POP C2) on our marketplace.

Pop C2. Its technical and software components allow you to solve most of the most common tasks, and the price makes it one of the most affordable solutions in this segment of devices.

Gadget niche

The price of 2240 rubles clearly and unequivocally refers Alcatel One Touch Pop C2 to entry-level solutions. This is also indicated by the model of the central processor used in it. This is one of the most affordable smartphones from this manufacturer. It supports basic functions. Otherwise, this is a typical entry-level solution segment gadget.

Equipment

Smartphone Alcatel One Touch Pop C2 4032D, as noted earlier, is a budget solution. Hence, his equipment is very modest. In addition to the mobile device itself and the battery, it includes the following:

  • Charger.
  • Typical interface cord.
  • Smart phone user manual and warranty card.

A stereo headset, a protective film and a cover for the owner of this smartphone must be purchased additionally.

Design

Alcatel One Touch Pop C2 4032D is a typical monoblock smartphone with touch input capability. It has a 4-inch screen on the front panel. Under it there are the usual three control buttons. Well, on top is a conversational speaker and an LED event indicator. On the right edge of the device, its volume controls are displayed, and on top - an audio port and a lock button. At the bottom, only the MicroUSB port is displayed. A loud speaker and its only camera are displayed at the back.

Screen

It is not necessary to expect that the Alcatel One Touch Pop C2 4032D smartphone will be equipped with a high-quality display based on IPS technology. He has more modest parameters. The matrix is made using TFT technology. Its resolution is equal to today's modest 480 x 800 pixels. There is also an air gap between the front touch surface and the display matrix. As a result, the picture quality on the screen in this device is very, very modest.

Camera

Smartphone Alcatel One Touch Pop C2 is equipped with only one main camera. Its characteristics are really not impressive. The touch element underlying it boasts a 3 megapixel matrix. In reality, this value is much less. Well, the previously mentioned 3 megapixels are obtained programmatically using interpolation technology. The maximum resolution of the resulting digital photos can be 2102 x 1500. Additional LED backlighting is not provided in this gadget. The situation is similar with the autofocus and image stabilization system. As a result, only with a normal level of illumination can still get normal photos. With video, the situation is even worse. The resolution of the recorded videos is 640 x 480. Accordingly, on modern screens with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 or more, it is simply impossible to watch such a video. There is a camera in this device, but its capabilities are really modest. But you certainly can’t expect more from a budget-level smartphone.

And what do we have inside?

Built on the basis of a very modest to date central processing unit - MT6572. This is the development of the Chinese company "MediaTek". It includes 2 computing modules based on the Cortex A7 architecture, which, if necessary, can be overclocked to 1.3 GHz. The manufacturing technology of this semiconductor device is based on the 28 nm process. It should be noted right away that this chip only supports 32-bit computing. Therefore, the most recent 64-bit applications will not run on it. Another problematic point for him is the most demanding applications of the latest generation. The computing power of this chip is not enough to run them and, as a result, they will not run on it. The capabilities of the central computing device are harmoniously complemented by the Mali-400MP2 graphics accelerator. Its performance level matches the CPU. Its main task is to free the processor from processing graphic information, and with this it does an excellent job. The amount of RAM in this device is 512 MB. In this case, the operating system takes up about 300 MB. Therefore, the user can count on 200 MB at best. The capacity of the integrated drive in this case is "modest" 4 GB. At the same time, 2 GB is initially occupied by system software. There is a slot for an external flash drive, the capacity of which can be equal to 32 GB, and without it it will be quite difficult to fully work on this gadget.

autonomy

The device is equipped with a 1300 mAh removable battery. Taking into account the 4-inch diagonal of the gadget, this is enough for 2 days of using a “smart” phone. It certainly won't do much more than that. Also, in order to be able to count on these 2 days, it is imperative to install optimization software on this device, which would allow more rational use of the battery life. But with a greater load, the specified value will be reduced to 10 hours. But it takes 2.5 hours to fully charge the battery.

Soft

The software basis of this gadget is Android. At the moment, version 4.2 is installed on it. This is enough to run most basic applications. But the owner of this smartphone needs to be prepared for the fact that in the foreseeable future there may be problems with launching the most recent software due to software incompatibility.

The smartphone is not much higher than the budget level, but for two SIM-cards, with LTE support and a price of 4,990 rubles. in the MTS (RTK) salon. The device is quite balanced and without serious flaws, suitable for fast Internet enthusiasts.

I asked MTS to “drive” this miracle, being interested in the price and availability of LTE support. Whatever you say, but buying something modern with LTE is cheaper than 6,000 rubles. not so easy. Especially in these difficult times. We do not consider deliveries from China for many reasons, of which the main one is the proximity of the New Year holidays. Time to collect and scatter gifts, and not communicate with the Russian Post. And in this POP2 there is a second SIM card as a bonus and the characteristics are not frankly dull.

Positioning

While it is determined by the very fact that the device supports LTE, the smartphone is of interest to those who want to try new technologies without serious “investments”. Today, the minimum price of a smartphone with LTE is more than 6,000 rubles, the closest analogue is Explay Air, the price for it is 6 100 rub. Yandex Market found only in one store (that is, not the fact that it is available at that price), in other stores it is closer to 7,000 rubles. But this Explay Air has one SIM card and half the amount of built-in memory. At a price (6,000 rubles), the Alcatel POP S3 is still relatively close, but it has a 4-inch screen, it is difficult to consider it a competitor.

The time is probably not too far away when the presence of LTE will cease to be considered a “premium” feature and appear in most smartphones. I still remember the days of the first phones with 3G, which cost significantly more than their counterparts, and now there are very simple “dialers” left without 3G. The same will happen with LTE, but so far you have to pay for techno-happiness. Our Alcatel is the first sign in the category "a smartphone with LTE is cheaper than 5,000 rubles", I hope that it will not be the last.

As for the rest of the filling, it is far from the top level, but it is noticeably better than traditional budget devices. The smartphone is really balanced, it does not cause any particular complaints and is suitable for many as a universal solution. For those who consider 3G speeds more than sufficient for a smartphone, I can only repeat once again: happiness is not only in speed. LTE is much more "responsive" due to the fast response time, this is important not only in online games. The browser also behaves completely differently, you have to try it yourself. And, of course, on average, LTE turns out to be three times faster, and the speed is never superfluous.

Equipment and design

The kit includes the smartphone itself, an adapter for an output current of 1 A (charges the smartphone in three hours), a connecting cable, a headset and a user manual. We have lived to the time when the headset in the box is already perceived as a pleasant surprise. The memory card from the kits has disappeared, presumably forever, but it's just not a pity. But getting the right headset can be more difficult.

The sizes are comfortable, the strips along the edges of the screen are narrow. Due to their small width, the smartphone is quite a bit larger than a device with a 4 ”screen and fits well in the hand. The back is cheap smooth plastic, not even matte, I'm already silent about soft touch. Fingerprints on the back are clearly visible. The design is emphatically “none”, nothing interesting. Well, okay, we are already accustomed to the technological simplicity of inexpensive devices. There are no multi-colored or “chrome-like” inserts. This time, at least with a variety of color options, we were pleased with the device in black, white, green and lemon versions. Someone has already complained about the lack of cases for him, adapted from Samsung S5, but the slot for the speaker did not match. Recently, more and more often I see phones in cases, is it really convenient? However, it's a matter of taste.

Design

A traditional monoblock, packed tightly, looks a bit unusually large, but thin 2,000 mAh battery. The eye of the camera does not protrude beyond the dimensions of the case. There are no complaints about the build quality, with the exception of not entirely successful buttons. The device lay in the box already slightly ajar, such a nice little thing.

Two slots for SIM-cards are spaced apart and "look" in different directions, it will definitely not be possible to confuse. A microSD slot (supports cards up to 32 GB) is also inside. The microUSB jack is on the bottom, on the top there is a 3.5 mm jack for a headset or headphones and a second microphone. The voice microphone is slightly to the right of the microUSB socket, and will not be blocked by a palm or a finger.

The volume rocker and the power button are on the right side. In my opinion, they don't perform enough, but it's tolerable. Worse, the buttons have a very short and fuzzy travel, and I generally managed to turn down the volume only on the third attempt. Most likely, an individual button defect in a particular instance.

I was pleased with the presence of the LED event indicator. The color is one (bright blue), but it works properly and also reacts to application events. The vibration motor is average, it is not designed for carrying the device in the pockets of outerwear.

Display

TFT display 4.5 inches, resolution - 480 x 854, pixel density - 240 ppi. In my opinion, this is the most controversial part of the device. A good and rather "progressive" filling, at first glance, does not fit with such a screen. I would like a better resolution and an IPS matrix. We will assume that this is a retribution for the low price of a smartphone. As a consolation, a display of this resolution does not use much energy, and the 2,000 mAh battery lasts a long time.

There is also a pleasant surprise, the screen does not suffer from the usual "cyanosis" for budget displays. I would say that in terms of color reproduction, this is almost the best option in its class from those that I have visited. Almost pure white color, even at low brightness levels, is a significant plus. Pay attention to the photo above, there is practically no characteristic blue.

Another close-up photo of the display. With flowers, everything is very good, thanks for that. Thin lines on maps and in small text are, of course, blurry. Colors when rotated in a vertical plane are noticeably distorted.

There is a light sensor, auto-brightness is present. Works well in different conditions, tracks changes and changes brightness quickly, without jerking. During the entire test, there was never a desire to manually control the brightness. Auto-rotation to landscape mode works correctly and does not irritate with random triggers.

The backlight of the three virtual buttons under the display is there and works, but the auto-turns off quickly, and without backlight they are not visible at all. I didn’t find it in the settings, but it’s difficult to consider it a disadvantage, we all remember three buttons or will quickly remember them.

Finally, an important detail that has an indirect relationship to the display. You can wake up your phone from sleep mode and unlock the screen by double tapping on the display. We get immediately to the main screen, bypassing the lock screen with a splash screen. You can send to sleep mode in the same way. Until now, I have come across this only on Lenovo smartphones, the thing is convenient, it saves time and battery power. It’s not even a pity to leave free space on the screen for “blocking” taps. If this is not done, then you hit the icon and the application has time to start.

cameras

There are two of them: the main camera is 5 MP with autofocus, the front camera is 2 MP. LED flash is available, but weak.

With the front camera, again, it was not without intrigue. According to the description, it is 2.0 MP, in fact (file properties and AnTuTu data) - 0.3 MP (VGA). In the settings of the front camera, there is only a night mode and the ability to take 4 pictures in a row, there is nothing more to configure. As a consolation, I can mention the humane compression algorithm, the average file size is 250 KB. Or were they going to interpolate to 2 MP, but something went wrong? Okay, the selfies aren't exactly disgusting, see the photo above.

The main camera (5 MP with autofocus) turned out to be quite decent. "Ceremonial" photos in good lighting are almost flawless. Autofocus can not be called slow and works correctly.

In general, I liked the work of the software, correctly “calculates” and corrects the white balance. Shots in different types of lighting (for example, a rather dim table lamp) look good without any “dancing with a tambourine” around additional settings. The spectrum is slightly shifted to the “warm” side, which is not bad when shooting a face and is not critical for most other scenarios.

Macro mode is provided and works. It will not work to print banknotes, but you can safely count on shooting close-ups of all kinds of buttercup flowers.

Work with text. Again, nothing outstanding, but the photographed A4 page is easy to read. If the text is not too small (see above photo by click), then the recognition system does a good job.

Shooting at night didn't work for me. Either he wanted too much from the camera, or he needs a good workout. Well, at least there is no pronounced “noise”, i.e. the situation is not hopeless and you can try to photograph static objects.

There is an LED flash, but I would recommend immediately forget about its existence. Although I'm lying, the "flashlight" mode can come in handy. The trouble is not even that the flash is frankly weak. Either they really saved on the LED, or the software does not work correctly with it, I don’t know. But the pictures are obtained with a pronounced blueness. Given that the software handles different types of artificial lighting well, such a “flash” does more harm than practical use.

There are enough settings, and they are sorted conveniently. Is the “Barcode Scanner” mode present and even works well, a bonus from KitKat 4.4.4? The black-and-white shooting mode, very useful for text and diagrams, is hidden in the "Filters" section under the romantic name "Noir". This is a note to the owner.

As a summary of the camera. There are not enough stars from the sky and, moreover, he does not photograph them. But the product is quite suitable for various applications and is not a frank excuse from the manufacturer of a budget smart phone: “Should a smartphone have a camera? Well, get your camera!”. Here we have honest 5 MP with normally working autofocus and good software support.

Characteristics

The data in the virtual “parrots” of AnTuTu is 21,663. It’s far from the top models, but about one and a half times better than modern budget smartphones. They say that most modern games in a smartphone will run even at medium settings.

Aggregated device data, Network Signal Info app. The same application is present in the photo and screenshots in the form of widgets (preventing questions).

A list of basic data on the device from AnTuTu, an image in a "readable" resolution is available by clicking.

AnTuTu data from the sensors installed in the device.

Shells, programs, management

Judging by the familiar pictures and the starter widget, the smartphone has a starter shell from Celltick, the last time I assumed that we would most likely meet this package in future “branded” MTS products. Here, however, the package is present in a heavily stripped-down form, without a set of additional on-screen widgets with the ability to make online purchases. Either at the time of release, Celltick had not yet “finished” its product under Android 4.4.4, or because the smartphone was not sold under the MTS brand. It doesn't matter.

A lot of additional software has been installed, a holy cause. However, there are popular and certainly useful specimens. In terms of saving time and effort, the "Startup Manager" is very pleasant, which displays a list of all applications that start immediately and take up memory space. Going through the list and turning off autoloading of everything superfluous is a matter of minutes, and then you can slowly deal with each softinka individually.

As a consolation, it seems that the extra pre-installed software can be easily removed without rooting or other complications. I was too lazy to go through the entire list, but none of the programs I watched declared their “inviolability”.

The menu also has a wonderful section called Smart Live with dozens of "recommended" programs. You will find out about the paid or short test period only after a difficult four-way download combination bypassing the standard Google Play interface. Again, the master's business and no one forces, just keep in mind.

For some time I was busy with turning off the CB (Cell Broadcast) of the billing zone on the MTS SIM card. A couple of years ago I solved exactly the opposite task (turn it on), but now I couldn’t find it in the settings right off the bat. And to receive a Stolitsa message every couple of minutes with all the accompanying sound and light indications ... you understand. The CB settings did not help, but the coveted 50th channel (MTS broadcasts on it) turned out to be connected by default in the "Emergency alerts" section, in the settings subsection for Brazil. Thank you that this is not a "presidential" broadcasting channel, which cannot be turned off in principle.

And from the pleasant surprises - a complete set of network settings. I don’t know if Alcatel or Google heard mutually exclusive user complaints about restrictions in operating modes, but they did. And they made almost all the options that you could wish for. Use on health.

Impressions from work

I will not repeat about the ambiguous screen (see above), I wrote about the LED indicator (it exists) and the headset (it also exists). An interesting topic is the radio block. Which turned out to be surprisingly good. LTE immediately “clings” and confidently holds on to it almost up to -125 dbm on the indicator. Not just holding, but transmitting data. In general, with switching between networks on a smartphone, everything goes well and quickly, it doesn’t “stick” in any mode.

With data transfer speed, too, no complaints. It is clear that the network must first of all give 41 Mbps, but the smartphone must also be able to take this stream. It seems to take without problems.

With the indication of the operating modes of the smartphone, everything is very interesting. A thorough study of the "user manual" seems to leave no questions, each mode is described in detail, documented and should be displayed in the status line accordingly, sorry for the terry office stuff. But in fact?

In fact, the 3G HSPA + indication has been abolished in principle, this 3G implementation option has been announced as the fourth generation (4G) with the light hand of US providers, they were the first to engage in such verbiage in cellular networks. I have already met a similar phenomenon in the firmware of Alcatel products. In the "user manual" the icons were left for beauty and, probably, for regulatory authorities. If there is a very deliverable and techno-advanced subscriber, then they will popularly explain the difference between 4G icons (like, this is the previous 4G) and 4G / LTE (the most modern 4G). Here is such an "unobtrusive" confusion of concepts for the sake of a beloved customer.

However, let's continue. I have no complaints about the Wi-Fi module, the sensitivity is at a very good level. GPS turned out to be surprisingly fast, A-GPS also worked without problems and with good accuracy. Bad feelings are already beginning to appear from future accusations of “paid”, but I can’t do anything about it. I really liked the whole radio part of the smartphone.

Sound part. Here, here you can rehabilitate yourself, the multimedia speaker is not ice at all. The voice speaker is also so-so. I am still delighted with the ingenious solution in Beeline Smart 2, where they abandoned a separate multimedia speaker, making the voice of greater power universal. Any multimedia has not suffered much, but voice transmission has become radically better. It seems to me that such a "retrograde" solution is the future of relatively cheap devices. But let's see.

Summary

A fully functional smartphone of a level above the “state employee”, also with LTE support. The radio unit pleases, and at a price of 5,000 rubles at the gate. the device should appeal to techno enthusiasts. The screen is noticeably dissonant with the "stuffing", this is sadness. And unsuccessful (my opinion) buttons. But in general, the device is very good in terms of price and features.
